Even though bol.com offers already a lot of products, it can happen that your product is not yet sold on bol.com. This mainly happens when you sell your own brand or whitelabel product. In that case you need to create the product on bol.com, including its content such as images, title, description and product attributes.

It would be a lot of time to do this manually, when all the content is available in WooCommerce already. Therefore you can use the Content Connection within our bol.com WooCommerce plugin. In this article we’re going to explain step-by-step, how to publish entirely new products on from WooCommerce to bol.com.

Purchase EAN codes

Before you can start with publishing products on bol.com, you need EAN codes. You can purchase EAN codes on different website, we have stated a couple of them below:

  • ean-barcode.nl

  • EANseller.nl

In both cases you will receive a list of new EAN codes within a couple of minutes after purchase. Once an EAN code is used, from that moment it will identify that product you have connected to it.

Connect WooCommerce to bol.com categories

The next step is to connect WooCommerce categories to bol.com categories.

  1. Go to your WordPress dashboard

  2. Go to bol.com > Settings > Content Connection > Settings

  3. Select your content language and click Get categories

  4. Connect a bol.com category to each WooCommerce category by clicking the button Select

It is important to at least connect all the WooCommerce categories, you would like to publish new products from.

Connect all product attributes

Mandatory fields

To be able to sent the product content to bol.com, you will need to connect at least the mandatory fields provided by the bol.com category. To do this click the button Configure behind the particular category.

On the left panel you will see the mandatory fields and on the right panel the optional fields. All fields can be connected to either a default field in WooCommerce (e.g. product title already exists in WooCommerce), a custom field or a product attribute created by yourself.

Once all mandatory fields are connected, you’ll be able to publish the product to bol.com.

Optional fields

Even though a product can already be published on bol.com – with the mandatory fields only – we advise you to also configure the optional fields. bol.com will rate your content, based on the amount of information available. The more information you have added, the better it will be rated and shown on bol.com.
