How to sell products via Amazon?

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to market products on the Amazon Netherlands platform.

Amazon is now also available in the Netherlands, which brings many valuable opportunities for Dutch entrepreneurs in the webshop. Join this webshop as thousands of other local stores have already done.

Webshop owners can increase their reach by posting their products on Amazon’s website. By placing your products on this platform, you can take advantage of the success and brand awareness associated with one of the largest companies in the world.

Benefits of selling through Amazon

  • Obtaining a seller membership on gives you access to online sales across Europe with one account.
  • Take advantage of Amazon’s large customer base.
  • Amazon also packages and ships your products with Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), which allows you to grow your business further.

Step 1 – Register as a seller

To be able to sell on you will need to register as a seller on the platform. First of all, create an account on Amazon’s Seller Central . This is the website where you can manage your merchant account.

Registration requirements

Before registering with Seller Central, make sure you meet all the requirements necessary to post your products on Amazon’s website. Here’s what you need:

  • A valid debit or credit card.
  • Phone number.
  • Chamber of Commerce Registration
  • A valid identity card of the account holder and the designated owner.
  • Information about your bank account.

Step 2 – Choose an account type for your sales plan

Depending on what you need, you can choose between two “Plans”: Individual Plan and Professional Plan . With the latter option you can offer an unlimited number of items for a monthly amount of € 39. The Individual plan has no monthly costs, but you pay € 0.99 per sold product. It’s important to note that for both plans, you have to pay an extra cost per product sold on top of the subscription cost.

Step 3 – Choose the delivery strategy for your products

Once you have chosen the sales plan, you should start thinking about how you plan to fulfill the orders and provide fast delivery of your products. Amazon offers two options for this ; you can arrange the delivery yourself or you can choose the program ‘Fulfillment by Amazon’ or FBA.

If you choose the FBA option, all you have to do is send your products to Amazon and they will take care of storage, delivery, customer service and returns.

Step 4 – Post products on Amazon

After you have completed registration as a seller, there are two ways to offer products for sale: existing products that are already on and products that are not yet on the platform. The main difference is that for new products you have to identify the UPC / EAN codes and SKU numbers. You will also have to name the product characteristics yourself.

If your webshop offers different products, it is difficult to place each product individually on Amazon. Fortunately, you can use the Woosa Amazon plugin to place your products on Amazon as a package. This plugin automatically recognizes the EAN code of the SKU number of the product to make placing, pricing and stock synchronization easier.
